A beautiful and rare piece of 19th-century French decorative hardware, this gilt-brass cache-clou bow was originally designed to conceal upholstery tacks on fine furniture, giltwood frames, and Louis XVI–style pieces. Each bow is exquisitely formed with sculpted ribbon folds, retaining traces of its original mercury-gilt tone and the elegant, time-softened patina of over 120 years.
These decorative bows look stunning displayed in a shadow box, styled on a tray, used in creative framing projects, or incorporated into Christmas and curiosity-cabinet vignettes. Each one is individual, with authentic signs of age, wear, darkening, softened edges, and minor irregularities—all evidence of genuine 19th-century French craftsmanship.
